The
music
and dance
festival
in this
video
was held
in Iluman
Tio which
is an
Indian
village
high in
the peaks on
the outskirts
of Otavalo. Rocca
Duchicela,
from Cinto
Cloud
Forest,
and his
Iluman
Tio friends
performed
the music
throughout the
Festival,
and were
captured
on film. The
friends
met at
a home
to practice
early
in the
morning,
and when
ready
and blessed
by the
elders
(Taitas),
they ran
together
under
one beat
unto the
Iluman
Tio plaza
to launch
the Inti
Raymi
for 2006
in this
magical
world
in the
Andes.
Enjoy
the video
and travel
to the
Sun with
its music
and images.
Otavalo
The video's
principal
theme
is the
annual
Sun Festival
in Otavalo. Located
in Ecuador's
Northern
Andes
and just northeast
of Cinto
Cloud
Forest,
Otavalo
is a land
of ancient
traditions,
of Ecuador's
native
history,
of warm,
industrious
and friendly
people, and
of enchanting
landscapes. The
Inti Raymi
is held
at the
yearly
Solstice
(beginning
of summer)
in the
form of
music,
ceremonial
dances,
Sweats,
feasts and
traditional
parades. This
2006 video
also includes
images
of the
Cinto
Cloud
Forest,
and of
the Hunchback
Whales
that come
to breed
yearly
as they
have for
thousands
of years, off
the Ecuadorian
coastline
between
June through
August.
We would
be delighted
to take
you to
Otavalo
and guide
you through
the people,
the village
and their
customs. The
Otavalo
(Ecuador's
Northern
Andes)
region
is home
to countless
musical,
art and
crafts
entrepreneurs
and ambassadors
traveling
throughout
the world,
it is
a place
rich in
every
sense
of the
word and
with the
potential
as a leading
economic
(ecotourism),
political
and cultural
Ecuadorian
force.
It holds
the world-famous
Saturday’s
Market,
where
mostly
arts & crafts
are showcased.
Hunchback Whales
The
coastline
is only
4 hours
from Mindo
where,
under
our company
and guidance,
an official
yatch
charter
($40 per
person
for a
4 hour
whale
watching
trip which
includes
lunch)
will be
contracted
to safely
bring
you to
within
yards
of these
beautiful
mammals. Next
day, enjoy
the warm
water
beaches,
sand and
soft breezes.
We would
